Tears the Tears...............!

How to contain your pious drops as a teacher when it starts spilling and threatens to inundate the piece of paper at the moment you start wielding your pen to vent your ire and indignation because of being hurt ? Wait.....you are a teacher destined to wipe out other,s tears how you dare to do so ?Are you bent upon inviting ignominy on race of teachers who have proved that teachers are not mere weakling, they are packed with the crystal of sheer grit and gallantry? The problem in my case gets further compounded that i am a male teacher who is forbidden by societal norms to shed beads of tear. why again this gender discrimination in a world which boasts of spawning saga of social equity and justice ?where are custodians of human rights and why they are not undoing this injustice ?Medical experts and psychologists opine that welling up of tears if gets prolonged can wreak havoc on health and can cause serious psychic disorders. If its flow, that is similar to scalding of molten lava gets frigid ,because of being stifled, it may result into vortex of vituperative vengeance that again cannot be and should not be sterling attribute of being a teacher. Can a teacher take the risk of being vindictive after being fed and intoxicated with stupendous values of teaching ? Perhaps never as teaching ideologies are wedded with act of forgiveness where it firmly believes that students because of their transitional period of life that embraces vast and multiple psycho-physical changes are susceptible to freakish sets of behavior that is triggered by onslaught of sharp impulses ,difficult to be reigned in.What should i do know..... ? Where lies my remedy .....? I think it lies in act of endurance and maintenance of stoical silence instead of being livid and revengeful ; this process of austerity will itself induce the tears to get dried and will ease the burden of mind; that has been perpetually plagued by aghast agonies.

                                          Helplessness of being a teacher
Shakespeare was right when he averred the cosmic vastness of the universe in his best play Hamlet with almost its mountainous proportions of mysteries that; there lies more things in this heaven and earth which human mind is capable of comprehending .We wax eloquence over his uncanny insights to peep into deep recesses of human mind .To, me it seems that so called mature students, too are driven by the very same syndrome where to measure out levels of their expectations for a teacher is almost an act of impossibility. At times teachers have to work under various constrains which remains inexplicable.  This degree of severe restrain at times is embossed either by syllabic requirements or by circumstances which are beyond the control of a teacher. At times they have to befriend themselves with that curriculum which is almost inimical to them as it is necessitated by rules .Any teacher whose mind has been indoctrinated with different ideologies cannot thrive when he is saddled with the responsibility to deal with a subject that he least relishes. Teaching at its acme is an act of inspiration not of perspiration therefore, at times teacher’s status of being a mere mediocre could be well understood.
After being exposed to multiple teaching assignments in professional colleges what I have observed is that it is nonprofessional subjects which invites indignation from certain section of students. English being one of them is also roasted by the students instead of being toasted. It is almost a herculean task for a teacher to resurrect this subject for these students at this stage as it gets almost buried after the end of the schooling .However, despite all odds I do agree that it is the teacher’s duty to add girdle to it with golden splashes of light in order to make it more engrossing and alluring one. But this task is too arduous and cannot be achieved in a wink of time, it requires great liberties and ample time for the teacher where, he can be allowed to unravel the mysteries of student’s mind which remains till now fitted with that software which ultimately filters out something that is non-professional for their syllabus. Making penetration in their (students) hermetically sealed mind with nonprofessional subjects is too big a task to ask from a teacher who is making frantic efforts to overcome this transitional phase to meet the exorbitant aspirations of students. Everyone has his embedded fallacies and flicker of strength and to strike a balance between these two antagonistic forces is not at all easy. At its best a teacher is either left to stifle his own literary urge or to allow his mind to be encroached and powered by those subjects and values which were never been jewels in his crown .I can only invoke the bountifulness of Almighty to bless me with those acumen and insights with which I can revitalize and rejuvenate a subject that is passing through a rough weather because of decadent literary values!

Marked differences of teaching modes in Schools and Colleges
Different Levels of teaching pedagogues at different places have its own intrinsic justifications which cannot be undermined under any circumstances; otherwise the very motive of teaching is jeopardized. School teaching is marked by certain degree of constrain where a teacher cannot take liberties to unfold ingrained and multi layered complexities of a subject if he does so his teaching is almost relegated to level of redundancy, as it fails to cater the demands of students who lack maturity. School teaching is all about a simplification drive where more perplexing issues are either ignored and if; entertained at all, just with mere superficiality .For being an accomplished school teacher and for attaining pink of perfection a teacher has to be a strict disciplinarian rather than being a man of erudition and of encyclopedic range of knowledge . School teaching by its restrictive nature is deliberately kept under tight leash so; that it does not traumatizes the mind of students by its wealth of documentary detail. However, college teaching is punctuated with profundity and unrestrained degree of details where teachers are mandated by their elaborative curriculum to cram students mind with mine of information .It is philosophical insights and conceptual ideologies that becomes the reigning Deity of college teachers and if they fail to lard their lectures with these two elements they ,betray their students .A College teacher under no obligations is bound to mind the class about maintaining silence, as it cannot be enforced through authority and command, it has to spring out spontaneously from the decorum and demeanor of the students themselves as they have already attained maturity and are encumbered by huge parental and societal responsibilities.Intermittent crowing and tearing asunder all norms of etiquette amidst the presence of a teacher is a sheer act of savagery where  students can invite only the curse of the teacher. I fail to understand that if a student cannot invite his teacher’s love and adoration where lies the logic of incurring his wrath. Though blistering pace of modernity has torn and torpedoed all baggage of moralities, ancient mores and manners, which once dotted and defined educational landscape still, I believe that blessings of the teachers either by its sublime demeanor or teaching skills can work miraculously in catapulting student’s career to a dizzying height of success and glory. To me, it (blessings of teachers) has never failed and has always stood firmly behind me whenever my mind was gripped by depression and despondency. If it has imparted me such a canopy where I can consolidate my virtues for being a suave and sublime figure I, am of the conviction it will also unfailingly prop up and promote student’s career when they evince sincerity and solemnity inside the classes, especially when lectures are in progress. The choice can be exclusively exercised by the students themselves in this matter and not at all by the teachers. May good sense prevails in the mind of bunch of hooligan students so, that they take the onus on themselves and meet their parental expectations and thereby; restore the sanctity of the classroom which is almost lost……….!

Changing contours of classrooms in modern time

Buzzing     mobile      phones  on        silent mode,  Polyphonic   ringtones with bizarre songs, cacophonous whispers, heads muffled with headphones , popping eyes glued to screen of laptops and nimble fingers adroitly browsing WebPages decks the desks of modern classrooms dotted with self proclaimed genius  students.  In between stands a poor teacher making frantic efforts to make some sense through his lectures to the students hoping that it will impart some insights to them and will render them illuminated and enlightened one. Pitted against this superlative degree of teacher’s piousness, student’s approach is punctuated with an undercurrent of apathy and sheer indifference where they fail to reciprocate at all. Is it not an act of disgrace and defilement where even portal of knowledge instead of being sanctified through the resonance of thought provoking lectures, is stigmatized because of flimsy and fallacious teaching pedagogic skill of a teacher? Is it not a pointer towards the fact that modern day’s student being starved of ethical values are enticed to disrupt  the smooth functioning of the classes out of the gear and relish to make the classroom bedlamite by their  profligate  acts that goes beyond all limits of decency and decorum ? Let’s leave our mudslinging habits of ascribing the very reasons that leads to fixation of onus either on students or the teachers. What is desperately desiderated is an act of putting ourselves on bedrock of self introspection that will suffice enough to spell out reasons that has led to the fizzled and fragile status of our educational edifice. Attuning student’s mind with curriculum aimed to augment their lore remains the avowed goal of any teacher but, at times teachers cut a sorry figure and fail to leave indelible imprints on student’s mind through their tautological and banal lectures tempered with monotony .Such lectures fail to stir student’s mind as these are not loaded with wealth of erudite details. What further aggravates the condition is teacher’s antiquated style of teaching and enfeebled communicative skills. Teachers owe more onerous obligatory duties towards students as they are saddled by the society to mould student’s mind and pack it with moralistic impulses .They have to set exemplary examples of extraordinary expositional teachings;should be larded with brilliant insights and sparkling wits. If such high degree of teaching techniques are espoused and enforced by our teachers then obviously anarchic condition of our classrooms can be substantially remedied otherwise; propulsion of steep decline will further deteriorate the conditions. It is up to discretion of teaching community that whether they want to be adored by their students or to be thrown into limbo of oblivion for betraying their students just because of not establishing empathetic bond with them.

Kudos to Pranab DA for flaunting audacity and readiness to return that contentious bill that strove to shield scores of politicians with scarred image thanks to their baggage of criminality.Though Rahul Gandhi as a young colt by using his veto power has done his best to absolve congress party for its guilt and nemesis, still he has utterly failed to heal its heavily dented image among masses. We Indians do understand that who has really orchestrated this seminal change and, undoubtedly he is our adorable daring Dada. Our Dada being a perfect political ideologue is still donning that very visage of politics that is firmly rooted in primer of ethics. On legions of occasions he served the Congress as savior and ensured its perennial popularity without hankering after any gain. Who can deny his indispensability and inevitability for the congress party which he almost nurtured for more than thirty years? His elevation as president was not an example of meteoric rise and was not necessitated by any political compulsions; rather it was due recognition of his mental astuteness and great organisational finesse. The stoic silence with which he was endowed and with which he wielded clout over various congress presidents speaks volumes of praise for this man who has currently ensconced and entrenched himself in hearts of millions by holding aloft fluttering flag of honesty and righteousness. This man as seasoned political pivot has always been quite reserved and reticent in political domain and has worked ceaselessly and unswervingly for the cause of justice .Truly speaking his anointment as president is embodiment and empowerment of middle class as he mirrors and manifests their cherished dreams; which is committed not to have any truck with political entities with tainted past.We desperately need our Dada and his political prowess to steer the destiny of our country to a safe shore as at present we are our passing through perilous moments !

A Dirge on decline of literary values in present era.
It is pertinent to say that the world in which we are dwelling is quite sluggish and slow to impart much needed fillip to literary values. The repercussion that was well pointed by great novelist and liberal humanist,E.M Foster is that though modern children are studded with stout body but seem starved of psychological, ethical and literary maturity. This was not the case with our predecessors as their life was perfect amalgamation of physical strength and spirituality; which constituted their wholesome and holistic evolution. Now a schism or schizophrenia seems to have set in our life where we fail to perceive things in terms of totality and togetherness. This fragmentary and divisive attitude to study and analyse things in isolated vein has wreaked havoc on our literary sensibilities. Our elderly lot of society by virtue of their accommodating and all inclusive mind were equally sound in many languages and had at their disposal a mind that was agile and astute in envisaging such art that was to prove 'monument of unaging intellect 'later on; in words of W.B YEATS ,our last romantic poet. Often they humble our pride when we see their literary pyrotechnics which is gleaned from as diverse sources as scriptures and classics.Be it domain of writing or wax of eloquence we utterly fail to match their brilliance. The facility and ease with which they write or spell out their thoughts is a treat to watch.Behind them their is the sheer weight of erudition and elegance which almost makes them authoritative and irrefutable. However,we fail to assert ourselves in any arena of language as our mind was wrongly indoctrinated by our mentors with the notion that consolidating ourselves in any of the languages would suffice our need. Now this realization seems to be dawning my mind that as an Indian if i have to create for myself niche in the society then simultaneously i need to equip myself with the best of oriental lore that is buried in vedic and Upnishadic archives of history as well as in other literary sources. I need to embark on an odyssey where quest and pursuit of knowledge in all its myriad manifestation becomes the guiding spirit of my moral being.

Teaching profession has lost its sheen , splendor and celestial light with which it was appareled with the passage of time. The highly commodified and corporatised world in which we are dwelling and where worshiping mammon has become the cult is glutted with goods; which can suffice any need but the very dearth of a quality teacher has almost become endemic and is acutely faced by the entire society. Why this sublimest of all subsistence which was once adored and was put on highest pedestal of societal influence has become atrophied and disheveled ?Perhaps answers of these perplexing questions can be conspicuously noticed and attributed to attitudinal changes which has drastically changed the very fabric of our society.Earlier teachers were not only individuals but were more than institutions in themselves and that,s why they enjoyed considerable degree of paramountcy;which was duly acknowledged by the society as at that time it was agrarian and there existed almost an inviolable bond between mentors and their proteges .Now our decadent society because of its multidimensional materialism and mercenary nature is more bothered to make fast buck than to hold in high esteem the very virtuosity of teaching. Does (society)it really cares and dares to reverse this trend and make a retreat to those golden bygone eras where teachers almost preponderated and bestrode like a colossus force not only on other men of flesh and blood but even on Gods ? To, me who is temperamentally studded with streak of pessimism it seems a distant dream as our present society has utterly failed to set in motion the very cog wheels of teaching that was earlier precariously placed on concept of sanctity and sincerity. Now it has dismantled the presiding deity of teaching; which was once enjoyed the iconic status of being the very lifeline of the entire society. To, me this very act of our vulpine society is almost tantamount to a sacrilege and for this it won,t be ever forgiven by our posterity. However, robust optimists will never miss to see a silver lining and they will claim that a Promethean figure will come out and will resurrect it by restoring its much dented dignity.Only time will tell whether i am wrong or right!

Spawning of science and modernism has drastically altered the fabric of Indian society.Undoubtedly, it has brought sea changes in all walks of life, where we even brag ourselves of being avant guard for initiating seminal reforms to champion the cause of human values. Such significant changes have ushered our society to scale apogee of success. Despite riding on this crest of success and glory, still we find our thoughts to be ossified in abysmal ignorance and superstition. Why still science and skepticism fails to be reigning deity of humanism which has made unprecedented growth ?Why still we are adhering to those religious practices which are meant for slaughtering of innocent animals ? Does it appear rational that to absolve our own sins and reprehensible acts we are butchering these meek creatures? How animals can be attributed for human actions ? Is it the best possible way to testify our piety towards almighty? Are we really pleasing the Gods or we are inviting their wrath by sacrificing animals? Every religion teaches the very gospel of being compassionate towards animals, and if we flout this cardinal principle then obviously we are inviting shame on name of humanity. Shedding rivulets of blood by sacrificing animals at the altar of God is an act of absurdity and it can,t be justified in ways.Be it Islam or Hinduism everywhere such practices are prevalent and are even allowed to prosper and proliferate. None of the religious leaders belonging to these two communities are giving jolts to the very conscience of their devout followers that such gruesome practices amounts to barbarism. Why they are not exploring and promoting alternative means to please Gods? It is better to be an atheist than to show reverence towards such acts of savagery which raises a big question mark on our sense of humanity.Let us transcend the barrier of religion and work ceaselessly for ennobling humanity by bidding adieu to such cruel practices ! Let us remember that,it is only by showering generosity on men and animals we can become darling of God !

A desideratum to change juvenile justice Act
Much hue and cry has been made in aftermath of horrendous rape cases that shook the nerves of every Delhites and Mumbaikars respectively .Nation’s conscience was jolted at these sheer reprehensible   acts of savagery and brutalities .Who could have visualized that in a land where women are considered fount of cosmic energies and are even equated with deities of Durga, would be made vulnerable to such ignominious treatment which will put to shame entire humanity? Does it not allude to the fact that still a section of   patriarchy deeply rooted in illiteracy and ignorance strives to extract out so called supreme male  bliss out of such forced union ? Why still male dominance tends to manifest itself through such acts of profligacy? Why still male aggro and aggression tries to exert its supremacy by tearing asunder women’s psyche and physique when the society has made unprecedented progress in all arenas of life? Why people fail to understand that it is almost impossible for a woman to overcome traumatic experience of a rape as she is subjected to barrage of societal tantrums hurled at her to prove that she has been defiled and thereby deserves to lead a life of perpetual pangs of sufferings, which no amount of penance can wash out.  Despite being materially sound are we descending abysmally low in cultural and ethical values? Why this transition, why this steep decline in very dignity of women who had earlier been anointed on top pedestal of societal influence? To me it seems that society and its esteemed values that used to be its primer and lifeline has crumbled all together; where we are unable to salvage our feminine folk from talons of rapacious men and their unrestrained libido. It is said that health and hygiene of a society is directly proportionate to dignified status of women and children and; wherever disequilibrium sets in, and disrupts this balance it, proves catastrophic for the health of any society .Remember that men and women despite being different entities contribute equally for the growth of society through their efforts which are well calibrated, coordinated and cohesive one. No law however, stringent it may be can stop this crime, but its frequency and aggravated form can definitely be curbed. We have adequate numbers of laws and legal paraphernalia which; if rigorously implemented will deter such heinous acts .It is societal awareness alone which can mitigate the sufferings of women unleashed by lustfulness and lewdness of men. It is by act of ethical indoctrination alone that parochial mind-sets of men can be altered. Philanthropists, seers, volunteers and social activists should be saddled with the very responsibility to inculcate moral values in teeming millions of society. If they succeed in this, then definitely feminine folk would not be destined to date with such dreadful acts.
As far as indulgence of juveniles in such ignoble acts is concerned, again the onus lies on shoulder of society and not on legal fraternity.   Acts of Rape by its ingrained behavioral pattern of complexities are triggered by either fits of mental neurosis or perversity of mind which cannot be easily contained by mere draconian sets of rules .On legions of occasions it is observed that such stigmatized acts are commissioned by victim’s own kith and kin? Now under this proposition which law has got potency and adequacy to protect women against any kind of possible physical assault resulting either in molestation or rape?
Framers of law were pragmatic enough to deal juvenile crimes differently by embedding concertized legal provisions under section 82& 83 in I.P.C OF 1860. Whereas section 82 is hinged on concept of doly incapax whereby children till age of 7 enjoy complete exemption from punishment, Section 83 which is applicable for children belonging between 7 to 12 years is based on legal maxim militia supplex oetatum, which means malice supplies the defects of age. In this, partial liability can be fixed depending upon the degree of maliciousness which spurred their mind for commissioning of an offence. Children aged between 12 to 18 fall under the purview of complete liability.
JJA  at present being the apex body to esquire into acts of child delinquencies, provides immensities to the children till the age of 18 and strives to rectify and purge their minds by its reformatory laws.  It provides that irrespective of gravity of crime children won’t be punished by more than three years and won’t be incarcerated in traditional prisons; rather they would be kept in reformatory houses .Though its avowed objectives to ensure their restoration in mainstream of life is quite commendable but it suffers from certain fallacies which if not removed; will relegate the status of this body to a mere farce. In wake of spree of inhuman rapes, questions have been raised behind the rationality of its law to impart such degree of immunity to even children who are savvy and mature enough to be aware of the dire consequences of their crimes .Why to exempt such men such privileges when they are not only brutal but a blot on the of society and deserve to be dealt with severe degree of punishment that may act as deterrent to curb and contain such acts of sheer brutalities?
Currently children are attaining level of maturity much earlier what it used to be before 20 years as they have been exposed to media onslaught which is pandering their cryptic prurient desires by dishing out something that is sleazy, spicy and obscene even under the threshold of our their own houses as their parents fail to provide them much needed time and precious counselling thanks to their maniac indulgence of minting money .Accessibility of modern modes of communications has further aggravated the condition where just by tickling tips of fingers children can enjoy mountainous proportion of pornographic stuffs, which contaminates their minds and renders them mentally sick. When they perpetuate grave offences such as rape for satiating their carnal desires quite willingly and that too by being well aware of its legal repercussions where arises the question of being lenient towards them?
Therefore ,the need of the hour is to reduce age of 18 to 15 as crime records are a pointer to the facts that much of the crimes are commissioned by children who are less than 18 years of age.

APPOINTMENT OF JUDGES IN SUPREME COURT

Much deliberation and mulling has been made   in recent days among the masses and legal fraternity regarding appointment of judges in Apex court as the present system of appointment through collegium is said to be allegedly opaque and is a citadel of nepotism and therefore, smacks of nepotism .People who had unwavering faith in judiciary are even alleging that something seems to be rotten; the way in which judges of various high courts are elevated for this post. It has been facing flak from all corners of society as people are raising fingers; that why we should adhere to this unique system which is all most nonexistent in other parts of the country. To corroborate their allegations they come up with bizarre data which is a pointer that most of these judges have been either kith and kin or offspring of legal leviathans’ .Though to some extent it sounds flimsy and frivolous but is almost true. This may be because candidature for this coveted post requires great exposure and crucial apprenticeship which could be provided only if one is born of legal stalwarts or has been reared up by them. Only legal tycoons with their gray hair can cerebrate that how far it is essential to enjoy this intimacy by virtue of being born in a influential judicial family. Article 124(2) mandates that president in consultation with cji under the advice of union cabinet will make this appointment. It also makes it explicit that under Article 50 all three organs of state namely legislative, executive and judiciary respectively must act independently of one another .However, in a landmark case S. P Gupta versus union of India in 1982 it was hotly mooted that consultation with cji does not necessarily mean concurrence with him (president) and therefore by its prescriptive nature it was not binding one for the president .Needless to say that  this practice was inclined in favor  of executive and grossly undermined supremacy of judiciary which is duly exemplified from the fact that on certain occasions such as in year 1973 seniority of three other judges namely Hegde,Grover and Shelat  was overlooked and a junior judge A.N ROY  was anointed with the coveted post of cji. Same thing was repeated even in Shivkant Shukla Vs ADM Jabalpur case when M.S .BEG was elevated as cji by superseding senior most judge Hans raj Khanna, Who later on tendered his resignation as a mark of protest. Justice Khanna, s audacity to hold aloft standard of judiciary fluttering high in the sky made him a scapegoat in this matter. Those were the days when our judiciary  functioned under the tutelage of executive and failed to act independently and assert its vim and vitality for upholding cause of justice .However, it was in 1993 in a historic case named Advocate on records Vs Union of India a guideline was firmly laid down by supreme court, according to which appointment of judges in S.C will take place through a collegiums system led by cji and two senior most sitting judges of S.C  which was further enhanced to four senior most judges in 1998. This gave teeth to our judiciary and put it on a high pedestal. At Present this scheme constitutes paradigm of collegium system that is in practice. But, it is likely to be substituted by much contentious JAC (judicial appointment commission) through an amendment bill 120. Jac will be comprised of CJI, two senior most judges and law minister along with two eminent members who would again be nominated by a collegium which will incorporate cji,, prime minister and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha. One of the apparent loopholes of JAC is that it is subjected to control and manipulation by parliament by a simple majority that means parliament would be supreme apex body to regulate and supervise its functioning .Future of JAC looks bleak as the chances are quite strong that at the moment it would be brought before S.C for hearing this act would be declared as ultra virus under Article 50 and under  basic unalterable structure of constitution  enshrined in our constitution which clearly states that separation of power in all three organs of government must be observed and should not be flouted. CJI will miss no opportunity to categorically rule out any possibility of executive encroachment.  By examining critically ingredients of this proposed collegium, it is quite apparent that this proposed mechanism is lopsidedly tilted in favor of executive, which will again relegate supremacy of judiciary and that will not auger well for our nation where executive has already earned notoriety for its extra territorial power. As a layman who fails to comprehend abstruseness and nuances of such gray matters, what I propose is not at all a gladiatorial confrontation between judiciary and executive but a mechanism of pan India judiciary competitive examination at par with selection of top bureaucrats. If this system is implemented then obviously much of the controversies encircling appointment of judges in S.C would be halted which will be greatly instrumental in making our judicial system more transparent, trustworthy and vibrant.

Recent spree of killings in Muzaffarnagar triggered by riots has undoubtedly stigmatized character of every Indian and has unleashed a pall of gloom in our country and has exposed the hoax of secular nature of our country. Here wordsworthian poetic line fits quite aptly," This much grieves my heart to think what the man has made of man". Its very difficult to comprehend that despite being a nation(India) which is kept in serious reckoning globally, still we are reveling in rivulets of blood. It seems that we have made the burial of lessons of humanity which actually zeroes in on to promote and proliferate love and amity among all religions. Currently UP has become epicenter of communal violence in backdrop of ensuing parliamentarian election and if voices of religious fanatics is not reined in then it may spawn to other provinces. Almost all political parties in recent years  despite pretending noblest of ideologies have made their best efforts to bake their political bread in communal flare up.  Modi anointed as Prime ministerial candidate despite his dubious role in Gujarat riots and facing allegations for his involvement will try to extract out all political mileage out of this communal frenzy. Remember that he had even invited severe indictment from then P.M,A.V Bajpaee that" Modi ne rajdharma ka palan nahin kiya". Mulyam too will project himself as unrivaled god of minorities, which actually lacks true credibility. Congress party too, will do everything to settle its score with its opponents in this matter.  I don’t know where this sordid game of politics will come to an end. I fail to have any truck with any of the political parties as they have got same hue and are made of same rotten stuff. I say with pride that i am a devout Hindu which teaches me to be tolerant and appreciative towards all religions. Let’s strengthen the bond of humanity and glorify it !

Myth of development in state of Bihar
Much hype and hoopla has been made that Bihar has been sprinting ladder of success and glory in developmental domain, but abiding facts hinged on ground realities fails to corroborate it as our savvied people are smart enough to understand that it is the mere handiwork of complicity between media and wily politicians, who are at the helm of governance .People had reposed their absolute reliance by transcending the barrier of caste ,community and regionalism in 2005 when they ousted the previous RJD government which had become synonymous with corruption. But Alas! We are sorry to state that present government led by so called Sushan Babu has betrayed the cause of millions of Biharis and has let us down .People had enthroned this government with overwhelming majority as they had huge expectations that all their long cherished dreams to restore and subsequently spawn heavily dented image of state would be accomplished under the stewardship of Sushan Babu. It was more of a wish fulfillment fueled by NDA with abundant allurements to drastically change the destiny of Bihar than electorate need and anti-incumbency factor which routed RJD at the election gladiator in 2005.Previous RJD government that was knee deep wading through quagmire of corruption and chaos had scored abysmally low on good governance and Industrialization and had been almost indifferent to pangs of peasants. But where the present government looks different? Has it cleaned the Augean stable and cleansed the politics of its dross? Perhaps not, as in the present governance too corruption abounds, but it has been ingeniously kept under leash thanks to media’s panegyric paean of the ruling government .Undoubtedly, status of living has substantially improved in urban areas but large pockets of population dwelling in remote areas are still deprived of basic amenities of life. IT is almost heart wrenching to see that despite government’s avowed vow to eradicate poverty and establish industries, it still remains a mere mirage. Exodus of laborers on gargantuan scale to other states to meet the both ends of their life explodes the myth that our state is heading towards steady development .Status of farmers still remains bleak as they are easily vulnerable to various calamities; at times triggered by wrathful nature and at times unleashed by coercive policies of the government .Education in general and higher education in particular has almost been eclipsed in Bihar which is evidently clear from sheer disarray that seems to have become norm of our educational paradigm .When school teachers, who are said to be nation builders  are paid a paltry amount of 7000 to 9000 thousand per month one can nicely comprehend how education is the least prioritize sector for the government .    Where school children are allowed to become morsel of death by consuming poisonous food government’s priorities towards education can be better understood .Pathetic Condition of state universities are also a pointer towards the fact that how the ruling government has brushed aside its responsibilities to spruce up Higher education in Bihar. It is good that during the regime of this government some of the premium and elite academic institutions were set up .These academic set up because of its limited seats can’t cater the need of major chunk of the population.  But what about state universities which are getting anonymous day by day and have become mere resource center for conducting examinations and declaring results? One can say with conviction that never ever our higher education has seen this sorry state of affairs. Remember that this is the land of iconoclastic leaders like Gandhi and JP, who became the fulcrum of many evolution and revolutions which ushered the state towards seminal changes. If the present government fails to stir out of its spell of slumber it may be dethroned by the same people who had saddled it with power. History of Indian politics is replete with scores of example that how unpopular government were voted out of power when they utterly failed to meet their voter’s aspirations .vajpai, s led NDA government despite its shibboleth of shining India and good governance too was voted out of power by Congress as the much touted shine had not percolated to grass root level of society. This Government’s autocratic functioning does not auger well and speaks for the inevitable doom!

Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in contemporary India

It won’t be an exaggeration to state that, mere mentioning of Gandhi as a seer and saint  imbues our mind with devout feelings for truth and non violence and had not there been his emergence on nationalist firmament ;we would have been still under thralldom of British empire .Credit redounds to him that he espoused and championed patriotic cause of millions of Indians by donning the visage of a mendicant .British regime had a nightmarish experience with him as their very array of coercive and persecutionary policy was negated by his lethal weapon of passive resistance .He seemed to hound them after life and death by his sheer doggedly defiance and inflammatory speeches which made the Indians to burst in frenzy of nationalistic orgy. They were awed by his clarion call which brought his adherents on streets and propelled them to make supreme sacrifice for the country. Through his own utopian thoughts and sheer simplicity he goaded the masses to harbour in their heart love for motherland .He urged his followers to overcome their parochial thoughts by jettisoning ignorance, bigotry and feeling of animosity .He had no personal grudges against Britishers but he was dead against their divisive and exploitative policies ;which left our prosperous country desolate and disheveled .He  stoutly stood against Muslim appeasement, when nefarious designs were made to carve out separate electorate for them .Being a seasoned political entity he knew well that once the genie of communalism is let loose ;it will engulf entire nation in worst communal conflagration .Who can be oblivious of the fact that he even jeopardized his life by observing indefinite fasting and by visiting those riot affected crimson areas which had been made rivulets of blood .Such philanthropic and altruist gesture of Gandhi  miraculously succeeded in taming the tide of fanaticism and ultimately restored normalcy .Though he could not avert the division of the country, but made communal  harmony bedrock and bulwark of our nation. It is true that Nathuram Godse, a Hindu fanatic and hard core detractor silenced his stentorian voice by hailing bullets on him but, it could not deter his spirit .Though his mortal coils were consigned to flames but he arose like a phoenix and became beacon of light for his countrymen .At present when fissiparous tendencies unleashed by foreign mercenaries have reared their heads and communal cauldron has been set on fire in wake of parliamentarian election with anointment of tainted leaders such as Modi  as would be prime ministerial candidate; it is only Gandhian gospel of love and non violence which can bind the country in crystal of unbreakable bond of unity. I solemnly invoke Gandhian spirit at this critical juncture to become presiding deity of conscience of our scores of sordid politicians; who are otherwise not at all reluctant to wade through pool of blood and slaughter in order to ensure their accession to the throne! Let us be a votary of Gandhian values and strengthen the voice of humanity!
