CHANGING COTOUR OF BUSINESS DYNAMICS

Union cabinets nod to allow foreign retailers to stake their claims in Indian market has infuriated legion of Indian retailers who feel bullied by advent of these companies. They are quite apprehensive that as minnows they will easily become morsel of death of these companies as financially they are fragile. Now the question arise that under which compulsions this virgin field had been left largely unexplored by our government and why it is lobbying for these companies at present. Government at this juncture is desperate to control spiraling prices and crack down on black marketeers and racketeers. It is of the opinion that permitting these players will halt hoarding tendency of shopkeepers and will facilitate in keeping price tag under tight fist. This will also stop speculative prices of essential commodities. It also believes that once these marts are operational it will have money transactions directly with growers which will help our farmers substantially as their big chunk of lucre is devoured by avid middlemen. Now in present scenario these birds of prey would become almost redundant and will no longer be able to undermine farmer’s interest.

Undoubtedly this measure is laudable one but it will render thousands of our small retailers almost jobless as they would be deprived of their sole sources of livelihood and will contribute to proliferation of poverty. These are the shopkeepers who run their business in any kind of manageable shops and are not prone to tag their salable items at exorbitant prices. Their net profitability almost remains meager as they well understand socio- economic ethos of their clients.

However with advent of these business tycoons such as wallmart and other biggies our small retailers will easily serve as fodder for their insatiable urge for corporate hegemony. Their sound economic scaffold will certainly eclipse our geriatric and dilapidated business outlets. They will also monopolize the market and will script their own business ethics that would be solely inclined towards making fast buck and sprinting up ladder of success by trampling their rivals. They will set up their store in grandiose manner and in sprawling areas that would be thronged by teaming Indians as place of pilgrimage. This will further shot off gross materialism and consumerism and will induce people to splurge. People will love to indulge themselves in shopping binge and will go on spree of unending purchasing. This shopaholic urge will dent saving tendency of Indians and will be largely detrimental for economy. Moderate and frugal way of living will be left to be buried deep in bowels of history. This excessive consumerism will lead to generation of solid wastes on mountainous scale that will further complicate, precariously placed ecological conditions.

Government must weigh all possible alternatives before going ahead with these multinationals as their arrival will have far reaching consequences on our domestic economy. It must safeguard interests of domestic retailers before yielding to these companies. It is almost like catch 22 condition where our economy could be either made or marred.

KIRAN BEDI MIRED IN MORASS OF CORRUPTION

Much to our dismay Kiran Bedi,s name too has been mired in corruption as she is claimed to have swallowed big chunk of money allocated to her NGO. Is it the real visage of congress party who tome tomes to crusade against corruption in all its manifestation or a political vendetta where potential rivals are not allowed to survive with dignity? Has the party been ethically starved enough to drag her name in a peculation to malign her unblemished career? Is it the way in which our former top police officers are subjected to pass through untold miseries? Why government remained somnambulist and myopic enough to disregard utterly her immaculate service profile where she pioneered many seminal reforms in police manual? Perhaps answers to such pressing questions may be spotted in today’s sordid politics that fails to have even little smack of morality and misses no opportunity to tarnish someone’s righteous and upright entity for ensuring its own popularity graph in robust conditions. Kiran Bedi,s prolific career and her commitment for societal causes aimed at elevation and aggrandizement of our country has goaded every men in general and women in particular to idolize her and step in her footprints. Donning badge of being first IPS lady she did commendable job for women empowerment and shielded them from being vulnerable folk. Her avowed resolve to book rowdy elements, racketeers, and dealers of Narcotics for justice catapulted her fame to a dizzying height in decades of eighties. Even at present she is charioting many philanthropic outfits to promote and proliferate multi-layered societal awareness. On umpteen of scores she stood valiantly for keeping standard of truth fluttering high in the sky and stood a great success . Her credentials are strong enough to be torpedoed by any such  saber rattling move of Govt.It has already essayed to splinter inviolable unity of Anna and his acolytes and is now trying to rein in Bedi,s belligerence and resolve to eliminate scourge of corruption. Govt. must realize that Bedi is not a weakling who will break so easily and will show her conformity with whims of Govt. which is continuously beleaguered by allegations of embezzlements of public money.

                                                   It is high time for the congress party where it should go for self introspection instead of maligning one of our former honest police officer turned social activist. Let us pray that our brave lady emerges triumphant once more !

 This nation which used to chill spine of even best opponents almost looks in shambles and is largely innocuous thanks to its lusterless performance in every arena of game. The very nation which produced legions of luminaries itself stands withered and moron one .Where has fled its gleam that girdled this team in bond of inviolable unity and made it almost invulnerable one? Once it enjoyed that enviable status where it was almost unbeatable.For almost two decades it brought subjugation of every team by its superlative display of game. Who can be oblivious of raw pace of trio of Indies pace battery that culminated in devastating spell of Andy Roberts,Holding and garner. Their blistering pace and awful bounce was sheer terror for batsman. Batsmen needed herculean efforts to rescue themselves from not being cheaply scalped.These bolwers had finesse to penetrate even most technically armored batsman.Even in spin department Gary sobers was a treat to watch with his highly deceptive variation.players used to set supreme examples for their peers and were self propelled to throw their best behind every efforts. To them cricket was more than a creed and a liberating force that countered hegemony of white stock group of players.Batting contingent too was almost unassailable as this team had the opening explosive pair in form of Hence and Grinige. Together on umpteen occasions they piled of mountains of runs and ensured that their rivals are routed.There was hardly any crevices in their armor as technically they were very sound.This opening duo was followed by solid middle order.Richards,Clyve and Richardson were the very pivots on which middle order was largely hinged.Fielding too exuded its class as there was rarely any fumbling at all. Players morale used to be on its optimum level.

                                                  This golden phase gradually started losing its sheen once old tycoons hanged their shoes. Team could not be properly replenished with influx of young and able stuff.To make the matter worse Board itself had to pass through scores of quagmire of scams which scarred its image and dented its clout on team. Fissiparous tendency of different clubs and Islands inflicted irreparable harm to the board which could not work cohesively as giant unifying force. Team earned the ignominy  of being a damp squib which was not even  considered fit for sounding a note of bang as it always fizzled on a note of whimper. This transition from adversity to prosperity was not at all sudden but was the result of many years of sheer neglect on part of administrative officials at Board.Early decades of 20^th century saw the emergence of Lara who undoubtedly had a class but alas! he too could not bring the team in serious reckoning.Even his scintillating brilliances could remain a mere patch on large canvass of Indies team as team went on creating successive records of dismal performances. At present this team is teaming with many rookie fast bowlers but they need much international exposure and technical expertise. Batting too swivels around brave bravo and Chandrapaul but it needs to be bolsterd by sound and durable openers.

                            It can be surmised that that days are not in offing where there can be resurgence of present team into formidable mighty windies.It is hoped that in distant future it may arise like a phoenix from its own ashes but for that to happen it will have to descend further abysmally low. Is not waxing and waning a cyclic pattern of history?

MAYA UNROLLS POLL DIVISIVE SOPS

Recent decision of Maya to go for the resolution to have quadratic division of U.P. sounds quite queer as it is aimed to open vistas of developmental avenues for the present state. Now the crux of the matter is whether this move is political pragmatism or a congenial viable action to ensure better governance and diffusion of power.

Taking into account volatile paradigm of complex U.P. politics it seems that Maya is shrewd enough to play this divisive game for ensuring her perennial popularity and saving the government simultaneously that is starved of any accountability and is ridden with scores of scams. She seems to play with peoples sentiment by egging on their regional, cultural and factional instincts. It can be safely averred that she is least bothered for ensuring steady development of the state and is more inclined to save her own throne. Being intimidated and battered by resurgence of congress under new incarnate of Young Turk, Rahul Gandhi and belligerent samajvadi party she is left with no option but to show her indulgence with this game as a last arrow in her quiver to salvage her scandal scarred image and dwindling popularity. It appears that she has donned that chameleon skin which changes its texture and hue as contingencies arises. She is not a political ideologue of that stature who will have jittery moments while bidding adieu her political ethics. Same Maya in her best of roaring popularity could never have even thought of this game in her wildest dreams.

For her to be grooved in power, preponderates over all factors that is why she is even content to hold helm of affairs even in one proposed divided part of U.P. in aftermath of ensuing state election.

As far as subjects of this state are concerned they will have their own adversities and tremors as division will lead to spiraling of prices and will make commoners life more traumatic. It will further usher in an era of splurging of money that would be needed by respective elected government of divided state to set up their own legislative, judicial and bureaucratic infrastructure. Sky rocketing prices of property and eatable items will become norm of the day where commoners and destitute would be further marginalized and would be exposed to worst kind of paupery.

U.P. has already been divided earlier that led to carving out of a new state full of mountainous terrain christened as Uttarakhand. It was only that segment which was the remotest and had least accessibility. It was an action that was the need of the hour as that part could have not ensured its sustained development if it could not have been ceded from parent state, U.P.  Ideally  U.P. should have gone for bilateral division where a new state of Bundelkhand  was the only need thanks to its all together different topological conditions. Dividing plains of U.P. just for settling one’s political score with rivals is deeply dipped in sordid politics and augers ill for our national integration and sovereignty. Same move and such divisive policy will jeopardize umpteen of our provincial states which may step in footsteps of Maya to stop anti- incumbency factor.

May Maya be sanitized enough to halt this divisive policy in national interest as at present our country is embattling with mercenary and expansionist foreign powers!

Octegenarian Advani,s Rath on a roll

Advani,s much hyped ‘ Rath yatra’ from holistic land of Bihar is a frantic effort by the party to consolidate its dwindling popularity base in electorate areas. It seems a befitting time for the party to proliferate its base at a time when graph of its popularity is menacingly undermined by plethora of feud and factionalism. Stalwarts of the party are awfully busy in settling their own scores by inflicting irreparable harm to the party. They are bent upon locking their horns to promote their own elevation and aggrandizement. The party fails to arrive at consensus that who will steer the party in coming husting.The party too wants to capitalize on anti corruption plank of Anna and his acolytes. Undoubtedly the party has made a paradigmatic laudable shift in in its policies and crusading for a noble cause ; that is burial of corruption in all its manifestations. Think tank of party avers that this gesture will further accentuate anti  incumbency factor and will win away the people from dynastic rule of congress party. By bestriding as colossus on his chariot Advani is desperate to nail coffin of congress empire which has become epicenter of corruptions. The party is facing wrath of commoners because exposures of record embezzlement Moreover it is also an audacious effort by Advani to bolster his image and assert his resurgence and inevitability in the party. He is also keen to isolate his chorus of detractors like Narendra Modi and his associates by keeping them aloof from his campaign. It is also looked by experts as Advani,s master card to humble ambitions of his detractors inside the party wing. This Yatra assumes greater significance in wake of the fact that it has been flagged off from native village of J.P who enjoyed iconoclastic image because of his valiant battle against arbitrariness of late Indira Gandhi.Will Advani will be charismatic enough to stir the commoners as J.P did? Will he prove himself a savior for the party and will help in dethroning congress party. Perhaps the party is optimistic enough that it once more becomes the collective conscience of Indians as it did in nineties and its aftermath when Ayodhya issue rocked the nation. In recent years the party is looking quite atrophied and lusterless as it has been bereft of any substantial agenda and universally accepted leader. With this new found genie of corruption elimination the party wants to revamp its public image.

                                        Historical archives of Bihar has always spawned the myth that this land has always initiated epochal changes in fabric of society and passage of Advani too is a mere cog of this giant wheel of sweeping reforms in Indian politics. May this Advanian odyssey results in taming tide of corruption and ensuring a society free from festering sores of corruption!
